Q – Can you tell me about the work environment?
A – B&D Manufacturing has approximately 140 qualified and skilled employees who work together as a team to ensure that we provide our customers with quality products and a high level of service. We pride ourselves on the fact that our shops and offices are exceptionally safe, clean and organized, and we are ISO certified with excellent quality management systems in place.
Q – Can you tell me if the employee wages are competitive?
A – Yes, our wage scales are very competitive with the current comparative markets.
Q – Can you tell me about the benefits?
A – Benefits include: Medical, Dental, Life Insurance, Long Term Disability, a fully paid company pension, safety work boots, eyewear and an annual floater day.
Q – Does the company provide training programs to enhance employee growth?
A - Yes, we have varied training programs as well as our internal job posting program which encourages employee career development.
Q – Is overtime work available?
A – Yes, our customer and production demands are quite high and in an effort to ensure that we meet these demands, overtime pay is available after 40 hours worked per week. Overtime is available as required by each department manager.
Q – What kind of work schedule is available?
A – Currently we operate two shifts: DAY SHIFT Monday - Friday from 7:00AM to 3:00PM and AFTERNOON SHIFT Monday to Thursday from 3:00PM to 1:00AM with Friday being a scheduled day off. Based on production needs we are also considering the possibility of adding a continental shift. All potential candidates should be available to work shift work where required. For office and staff positions, the hours are typically 8:00AM to 4:30PM; however, flexibility is expected.

Q – Does the company take safety seriously?
A – Yes, we pride ourselves on being a very safety conscious company with many safety policies and programs in place. A truly dedicated focus on ensuring all employees follow the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) policy is part of our mandate. We meet and surpass any and all OHSA (Occupational Health and Safety Act) regulations.

A – Yes, we have positions available now and due to continued growth, we anticipate hiring additional people for added shift(s). We are flexible with start dates, so if you cannot start immediately, we may be able to make arrangements to accommodate a later start date.
